LOCAL PARKS

The beautiful Potters Park (corner of Dominion Road and Balmoral Road) has lots of green space, gorgeous tall Norfolk Pines, playground and splash pad for the kids. The park’s amenities also include basketball courts, which are always well used. Potters Park is the venue for various festivals and community events, included Carols by Candellight and the Auckland Cultural Festival.

LOCAL EATERIES

Dominion Road itself is one of Auckland’s bestknown roads. The road offers a wide range of amenities, with a huge variety of restaurants as well as practical shopping. Famed for its wide range of authentic Asian cuisine, there is an energy and vibe to the area that is hard to beat. There are some real hidden gems, so expect the unexpected!

IN THE EVENING

For movie lovers, The Capitol Cinema, Dominion Road’s beautifully refurbished, historic single-screen cinema makes for an extra-special movie outing. Located at 610 Dominion Road, there is a licensed bar and theatre. Originally named the Capitol Picture Palace, it was opened in August 1923, one of the earliest of a number of suburban theatres in Auckland. Dominion Road is extremely well served on a practical level, with supermarkets, pharmacies and other convenience stores. There is a Countdown and Nosh gourmet supermarket in easy reach.

TRANSPORT

Arcadia is located on one of the most centrally located suburbs of Auckland City on the corner of Kings Road and the iconic and historic Dominion Road in Mt Roskill and is well served by all modes of public transport. Dominion Road is one of Auckland’s best-served arterial routes for public transport, in fact it carries about 2.2million bus passengers a year and there are more people in buses than in cars at peak times.
